The Orioles and Indians started the first round of the Churchill playoffs down at the Monk on a beautiful night ripe for baseball. Both teams had a full arsenal ready to go. The Orioles defense made a statement in the first two innings with two putouts by Nicholas Vienot at third. Unbelievable pitching by Justin Auger (14 Ks) carried them into the sixth inning with two outs. The Orioles were kept in check for the first two innings with great pitching by Max Krinsky until the third inning when John Graf hit two in with a bases loaded single. Justin Auger came up big in the fifth adding a two-run homer to give the O's a little breathing room. Drew Botto came in to face the last batter to ensure the O's win to advance to the next round. O's ended up on top with a 4-0 win.
